Data from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that from Jan. to Feb., the overall operation of the information and communication industry was stable. The revenue and total volume of telecommunications services increased steadily, the driving role of emerging businesses like cloud computing continued to grow, and the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G, gigabit optical networks and the Internet of Things progressed steadily.

From Jan. to Feb., telecommunications business revenue totaled 280.3 billion Chinese yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%. 3 basic telecommunications enterprises are actively developing emerging businesses such as IPTV, internet data centers, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things, and completed business revenue of 62.9 billion Chinese yuan from January to February, an increase of 25.7% year-on-year.

In addition, the number of mobile phone subscribers increased steadily and the proportion of 5G subscribers continued to rise. By the end of February, the total number of mobile phone subscribers of 3 basic telecommunications enterprises reached 1.695 billion. Among them, 5G mobile phone subscribers reached 592 million.
